Therapy that begins with understanding.
Virtual therapy for teens and young adults
who are high achievers.
What’s happening beneath the surface matters.
-
When your mind is always preparing, anticipating, and questioning, it can become difficult to feel present in your own life.
-
High standards can be a strength. But when your sense of worth becomes tied to achievement, control, or getting things right, those strengths can begin to feel heavy.
-
Self-worth isn't something you earn by becoming more accomplished, more likable, or more certain. Therapy can help you develop a more grounded relationship with yourself.
-
Relationships can bring up questions about boundaries, belonging, communication, and attachment.
-
Eating disorders and body image concerns are rarely only about food or appearance. They often intersect with anxiety, control, identity, self-worth, and the ways you have learned to cope.
-
College, early adulthood, career changes, relationships, family shifts, and other transitions can challenge the identity and expectations you've built your life around.
Therapy for anxiety, perfectionism,
self-esteem, eating disorders, & more
Let’s be Honest
Finding a therapist who looks beyond the behaviors you want to change and takes the time to understand how everything connects can be harder than it should be. Someone who doesn't just help you manage anxiety, change your relationship with food, or work through perfectionism in isolation, but gets curious about how your experiences, relationships, expectations, and ways of navigating the world shape one another. Maybe your anxiety is tied to the pressure you put on yourself or your relationship with food reflects a need for certainty when other parts of life feel overwhelming. These struggles are often connected in ways that aren't immediately obvious.
My approach is different from many therapists. It includes looking at the bigger picture with you in order to understand not just what you're struggling with, but how everything is related so that you can understand yourself more deeply and begin to move forward in a way that feels meaningful and lasting within all areas of your life.
Meet Dana
I'm Dana Sedlak, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant (CEDS-C) with over 12 years of clinical experience.
Much of my clinical work has been with people who are thoughtful, driven, sensitive, self-critical, and accustomed to holding themselves to high standards. They may be deeply responsible, perceptive, and motivated to do well, yet struggle to extend that same understanding to themselves. My extensive experience in eating-disorder treatment has shaped how I understand the ways anxiety, perfectionism, and self-worth can intersect with areas related to food, relationships, achievement, and the expectations we place on ourselves.
Alongside my clinical work, I've led treatment programs and trained and supervised multidisciplinary providers. These experiences have reinforced what matters most to me as a therapist: understanding the person behind the pattern, remaining curious about what makes change difficult, and recognizing that meaningful progress looks different for everyone.
While the concerns that bring someone to therapy may look different on the surface, I often find common threads in how people experience the world. These shared tendencies can shape how we relate to ourselves, others, and the choices we make, sometimes in ways that leave us feeling stuck. Understanding those connections allows us to work beyond any one symptom or concern and toward change that feels meaningful to the whole person.
MY APPROACH
The goal isn’t to become less thoughtful, ambitious, or caring.
It’s about learning how to make those qualities work for you, rather than against you.
You're here because something matters.
