Therapy that begins with understanding.
Virtual therapy for teens and young adults navigating anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, and eating disorders.
You may be used to doing well, meeting expectations, and figuring things out on your own, but underneath, you may feel anxious, overwhelmed, caught in overthinking, or unsure how to trust yourself.
Maybe you're tired of feeling like you should be able to handle everything. Maybe the strategies that once helped you succeed are now leaving you exhausted, disconnected, or stuck in the same patterns.
Therapy offers a space to understand what's happening beneath the surface and develop more freedom in how you relate to yourself, other people, and your life.
What’s happening beneath the surface matters.
Anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and control can look like separate struggles. Often, they're connected by the ways we've learned to feel safe, capable, or accepted.
Perfectionism may help you avoid mistakes. People-pleasing may help you maintain connection. Control may offer relief from uncertainty.
Understanding the pattern is where change begins.
Therapy for the person behind the pattern.
Underneath, you might be:
Overthinking decisions and questioning yourself.
Struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, or the pressure to get things right.
Putting other people's needs ahead of your own.
Navigating relationships, identity, or uncertainty about the future.
Feeling disconnected from yourself or struggling with food, exercise, or body image.
You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. You just have to be ready to understand yourself differently.
Therapy for anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem, eating disorders, and more
The concerns that bring you to therapy may not fit neatly into one category. Anxiety may affect your relationships. Perfectionism may shape your self-esteem. A need for control may show up in your work, your daily routines, or your relationship with food and your body.
We can explore the concerns that feel most pressing while also understanding how they connect.
-
When your mind is always preparing, anticipating, and questioning, it can become difficult to feel present in your own life.
-
High standards can be a strength. But when your sense of worth becomes tied to achievement, control, or getting things right, those strengths can begin to feel heavy.
-
Self-worth isn't something you earn by becoming more accomplished, more likable, or more certain. Therapy can help you develop a more grounded relationship with yourself.
-
Relationships can bring up questions about boundaries, belonging, communication, and attachment.
-
Eating disorders and body image concerns are rarely only about food or appearance. They often intersect with anxiety, control, identity, self-worth, and the ways you have learned to cope.
-
College, early adulthood, career changes, relationships, family shifts, and other transitions can challenge the identity and expectations you've built your life around.
Meet Dana
Specialized experience. An individualized approach.
I'm Dana Sedlak, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant (CEDS-C) with over 12 years of clinical experience.
Much of my clinical work has been with people who are thoughtful, driven, sensitive to expectations, and accustomed to holding themselves to high standards. They may be deeply responsible, perceptive, and motivated to do well, yet struggle to extend that same understanding to themselves. My extensive experience in eating-disorder treatment has shaped how I understand the ways anxiety, perfectionism, self-worth, and a need for control can intersect with food, relationships, achievement, and the expectations we place on ourselves.
Alongside my clinical work, I've led treatment programs and trained and supervised multidisciplinary providers. These experiences have reinforced what matters most to me as a therapist: understanding the person behind the pattern, remaining curious about what makes change difficult, and recognizing that meaningful progress looks different for everyone.
I bring that perspective to my work with anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, and eating disorders through tailoring treatment to the individual rather than assuming every person with a similar concern needs the same approach.
A different kind of therapy.
Therapy with me is collaborative, curious, and grounded in the understanding that meaningful change requires more than knowing what you should do.
Together, we'll explore what's keeping familiar patterns in place, practice responding differently when old fears arise, and make room for choices that reflect who you are, not just what you expect of yourself.
Sometimes that means developing practical strategies. Sometimes it means sitting with uncertainty, examining a long-held belief, or understanding why change feels harder than it seems.
Our Work TogetherThe goal isn’t to become less thoughtful, ambitious, or caring. It’s to make those qualities work for you, rather than against you.
Inner Wellness extends beyond the therapy room.
While therapy is at the heart of my work with individuals, my clinical experience has also shaped the way I support the professionals and organizations providing mental health care.
